The President of Georgia met with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden Ann Linde.
The sides discussed the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, the situation in the region, the importance of strengthening the role of the EU and the OSCE in the region and the electoral system of Georgia.
The recent frequent kidnappings of people from the villages adjacent to the occupation line and, in particular, the case of Zaza Gakheladze were also highlighted. The President called on the OSCE Chairman-in-Office to use every opportunity and format to address the issue of occupation at a high political level.
At the meeting, Salome Zurabishvili came up with the initiative for Georgia to host an international conference with the participation of women leaders, which was supported by the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.
