The bill will be submitted to the Bureau for initiation tomorrow.
Relevant amendments are included in the Law on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, initiated by Mikheil Sarjveladze, Chairman of the Human Rights Committee.
The bill stipulates that the granting of one-time state compensation will be a sufficient precondition for granting the status of victim or victim to a person. Under the amendments, receiving state compensation does not deprive the victim / victim of the right to apply to a court for damages.
At the same time, the amendment clarifies the procedure for granting victim status to a person by a permanent group and indicates that the permanent group resolves the relevant issue no later than 48 hours after receiving information about the alleged victim after applying to a shelter or other relevant institution. The initiative states that the compensation is GEL 1,000.
