We are committed to continuing close cooperation with NGOs and hence agree on the specific issues we discussed today in the form of a specific plan for March», — the Chair of the Legal Issues Committee, Anri Okhanashvili stated after meeting with NGO representatives.
According to him, the representatives of NGOs expressed specific proposals on the amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, on specific issues in the criminal law and the field of justice, as well as their own ideas and thoughts on strengthening parliamentary oversight and control.
«The purpose of the meeting was to exchange positions, on the one hand, regarding the priorities and plans of the Legal Issues Committee and on the other hand, for issues that are relevant for NGOs, in connection with which they believe the Committee should be involved in these processes. Today we held the first meeting. We will meet again in March and determine which organization will cooperate with the Committee in specific directions. Therefore, I expect positive cooperation», — A. Okhanashvili commented.
