The fact that the US Senate will hold a hearing on the issue of Georgia, given the Georgian-American relations, is not surprisingly positive — said former Foreign Minister Irakli Menagarishvili in an interview with GTmedia.
«Based on our relations, the reasoning will be positive. I am almost sure that the recommendations offered by the Americans will be similar to those of the Europeans,» said Irakli Menagarishvili.
He said that despite the complaints made by some members of the opposition to their European partners, their goodwill towards us will not change. The process will end positively and the situation will be eased.
Note: The US Senate will hold a hearing on Georgia on March 23. Strengthening Democracy in Georgia — A hearing on this issue will be held in the Senate Subcommittee on Europe and Regional Security. The subcommittee is chaired by Senator Jean Shaheen. The meeting will be attended by US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State George Kent and Cara McDonald.
